JOB TYPE: Full-time Long-Term (Monday to Friday)

SALARY: £85.00 – £105.00

Are you and an enthusiastic individual with prior experience working with children? Do you have a genuine interest in helping children in an educational setting. Ortus recruitment are looking for an unqualified classroom assistant to help assist the children and head teacher throughout the day. The chosen applicant will have great communication skills, patience and great social awareness.

Your duties will include:

• You will support the head teacher with planning daily activities.
• You will work 1:1 with children and small groups to help them learn and engage in the classroom.
• You will also support and care for the children with learning difficulties and SEN.
• You should also help the class teacher prepare the classroom for the lessons and help clean up after.
• You may also be asked to do admin activities such as photocopying, filing, displaying work, recording and reporting important notes.  
• You should also build relationships with the parents of the children to ensure good communication and a warm environment.   
• Most importantly you should look after the children’s health, safety, and wellbeing and making sure all harmful tools are kept at a distance from the children.

Requirements:

• Experience and comfortability working with SEN children
• Able to make good connections with teachers, children and parents.
• Sensitivity, patience and dedication when it comes to supporting the children.
