Ortus Recruitment is working in partnership with a well-established primary school in the London Borough of Wandsworth to appoint a committed and enthusiastic Unqualified KS2 Teaching Assistant to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual with experience supporting pupils in Upper Key Stage 2, particularly those with speech, language, and communication needs. The Role:

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and support staff to deliver a high standard of education and care. Key responsibilities include:

• Assisting in the preparation of engaging and effective learning materials
• Supporting individual pupils or small groups, particularly those with additional learning needs
• Contributing to a positive and inclusive classroom environment
• Maintaining a well-organised and safe classroom space
• Promoting good behaviour and supporting classroom management strategies
• Collaborating with teaching staff to ensure all students are equipped with the resources they need for learning

The Ideal Candidate Will:

• Have experience supporting Upper Key Stage 2 pupils, particularly in delivering interventions focused on speech, language, and communication
• Be confident working with children with additional educational needs on a 1:1 or small group basis
• Demonstrate a proactive, flexible, and reliable approach to their work
• Hold a Level 3 qualification or a relevant degree (minimum 2:2), such as in Psychology, Education, Literacy or related fields
• Be available for a full-time, long-term position
