Here at Ortus Recruitment we are seeking an unqualified learning support assistant to join one of our vibrant mainstream primary schools on a full time, long term basis, with the opportunity to for career progression within this role, as CPD Courses and Teacher Training opportunities are available.

Must have:

• A clear Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the update service or be willing to process one through Ortus Recruitment – £52
• TWO obtainable childcare relevant references (character/academic references also viable)
• A minimum Grade C in GCSE English and Math

For this role we are seeking someone who can come in and hit the ground running by easily building positive rapports with both staff and students. We are looking for someone who is comfortable working in a school setting, working both 1:1 and in small groups. The ideal candidate will be someone who has a ‘Can do’ attitude and is passionate about working with children.

Main Responsibilities:

Your main responsibility will be to assist the class teacher in supporting a year 4 class, helping to prepare and hand out tasks and activities. You will be required to lead 1:1 and small group interventions to help raise the academic attainment level or children who need additional support. You may also be required to assist in undertaking administrative duties such as marking classwork/homework, removing/updating display boards and photocopying/laminating worksheets.
