Here at Ortus Recruitment we are seeking an unqualified Learning Support Assistant to join one of our vibrant Mainstream Primary Schools located in the London Borough of Southwark, Walworth.

The Job Information:

• Position: Unqualified Learning Support Assistant
• Pay: £80 – £90 per day, PAYE – No hidden agency/umbrella company fees
• Location: Southwark, Walworth
• Role: Full time, Long term, Monday – Friday (08:30 – 16:00)

We are seeking someone to join one of our fantastic primary schools on a full time, long term basis with an immediate start. The ideal candidate doesn’t need any school based experience, but needs transferrable experience/skills. Experience working in a care, residential or social (coaching) setting supporting children and/or vulnerable adults/young people. The ideal candidate will be passionate about working alongside children and dedicated in helping them develop academically and in other areas they may need. The successful candidate will be able to easily build a positive relationship with staff and encourage the pupils to engage in learning effectively.

In order to be considered for this position you must have TWO obtainable relevant references and a clear Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the update service or be willing to process one through Ortus Recruitment – £52.

The main responsibilities within this role are to support the Class Teacher in working closely with pupils in a mainstream Year 2 class. The successful candidate will be someone who is comfortable with undertaking administrative duties within the classroom such as, adding to or removing class display boards, assisting the class teacher with preparing class work and photocopying/laminating worksheets where needed. You will be responsible for escorting pupils to and from their lessons, encouraging calm behaviour in the corridor as well as ensuring the safety and wellbeing of pupils at all times.
