Here at Ortus Recruitment we are seeking an Unqualified PE Teaching Assistant to join one of our thriving Mainstream Primary Schools located in the London Borough of Lewisham, Blackheath.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about working with children and dedicated to aiding their overall development.

Must have:

• Experience working alongside children in a care, residential, school or social setting
• An Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the update service or be willing to process one through Ortus Recruitment – £52
• Two obtainable childcare relevant references
• A minimum Grade C in GCSE English and Math

The successful candidate will be responsible for working alongside the PE Teacher and supporting learners across KS1 and KS2 in there PE Lessons. You will assist in managing challenging behaviour and encouraging a positive attitude to learning.

You may be required to work both 1:1 and in small groups with pupils who need additional support; working alongside the class teacher to create sessions that caters to all pupils individual needs.

You will be tasked with administrative duties such as taking the class register, preparing, planning and setting up activities for the pupils and providing feedback to both the class teacher and parents/carers on the pupils academic and behavioural progress.

Requirements:

• Must have a genuine enthusiasm for sports and a passion for working with children
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with staff and students
• The ability to work with students of varying abilities
• An understanding of and commitment to the safeguarding and welfare of students
