Ortus Recruitment is working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive mainstream primary school in Wandsworth, currently seeking an Unqualified Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a pupil with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

This is an ideal role for someone with previous experience working with children—whether in a school, nursery, or care setting—who is passionate about making a difference and eager to gain more experience in education.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supporting a pupil with ASD on a 1:1 basis, helping to access learning and develop social and communication skills
• Working alongside the class teacher and SENCO to implement strategies that support the pupil’s progress
• Encouraging a calm, structured, and nurturing learning environment
• Assisting in both classroom-based and play-based learning activities

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Experience working with children, particularly those with additional needs
• A patient, empathetic, and calm approach to behaviour and communication support
• A proactive attitude and willingness to learn on the job
• A genuine interest in working in education long-term
