Year 3 Teaching Assistant – Haringey | £90 – £105 PAYE | Full-Time | Immediate Start

Ortus Recruitment is looking for a dedicated and energetic Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive primary school in Haringey. This role is ideal for candidates with a background in sports coaching, youth work, or mentoring who are passionate about supporting children’s education and personal development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons
• Work 1:1 and in small groups to support pupils’ learning
• Encourage physical activity and sports participation during lessons and break times
• Help with classwork, homework, and daily tasks
• Maintain a structured, safe, and inclusive classroom environment
• Support pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development
• Communicate effectively with teachers, staff, and parents
• Assist in after-school clubs, particularly those related to sports and extracurricular activities
• Provide tailored support to SEN pupils in small groups or 1:1

Requirements:

• Experience working with children in a school, sports, or youth club setting (preferred)
• Background in sports coaching, youth work, or mentoring (preferred)
• Experience supporting SEN pupils (1:1 or group settings preferred)
• Ability to manage behaviour positively and motivate students
• Strong teamwork skills and a proactive attitude
• Passion for helping children from diverse backgrounds

Job Details:

• Location: Haringey
• Salary: £90 – £105 PAYE (no umbrella)
• Job Type: Full-time, long-term
• Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 4:00pm
• Start Date: Immediate
