Ortus Recruitment is working closely with a vibrant and welcoming primary school in Wandsworth, South West London, to recruit a motivated Unqualified Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals from varied backgrounds – whether you’re coming from care work, sports coaching, customer service, or youth mentoring – to transition into a rewarding role in education.

As an Unqualified Teaching Assistant, you’ll play a key part in supporting pupils across a range of age groups and abilities – helping them to thrive both academically and emotionally.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Supporting pupils in class or on a 1:1 basis to keep them engaged and motivated
• Working alongside teachers to deliver engaging, inclusive lessons
• Assisting with small group interventions focused on literacy, numeracy, and personal development
• Encouraging independence and helping children build their confidence
• Supporting pupils with additional needs or barriers to learning

What We’re Looking For:

• Enthusiasm, resilience, and a proactive approach
• Great communication and teamwork skills
• GCSEs in English and Maths (Grade C / Level 4 or above)
• A genuine passion for helping children succeed
• Willingness to apply for or hold an enhanced DBS (Update Service registration ideal)

Experience in schools is not required, but if you’ve worked with children or in a people-focused setting, we’d love to hear from you.
