Here at Ortus Recruitment, we are working with a Fantastic Primary School located in Upper Sydenham. The school is Ofsted rated ‘Outstanding’ and are seeking an Unqualified Teaching Assistant to begin a full time, long term role after the Easter Holidays.

Based in Upper Sydenham the school is renowned for it’s amazing staff team. Their staff team are eager and enthusiastic to welcome new staff to the school and assist them with settling down and thriving in the role. The school is easy to commute to and from, being based a short walk from Sydenham and Sydenham Hill station. 

The role:

• Position: Unqualified Teaching Assistant
• Location: Upper Sydneham
• Pay:£80 – £100 per day, PAYE
• Role: Full time, Long term, 08:30 – 16:00

Within this role the ideal candidate will be required to support a Year mainstream primary school class. You will be required to assist the class teacher with preparing activities and tasks and setting them out for the pupils to complete as well as assisting the pupils in completing said activities and tasks. This could be within the classroom, or 1:1/small group intervention work to help raise attainment in core subjects ( English, Math, Science).

The ideal candidate will have experience working with children, young adults or adults with SEN or who are vulnerable. School based experience isn’t necessary but transferrable skills are desirable. Someone who is naturally nurturing when it comes to working with children. A strong academic background in core subjects is desirable as the ideal candidate may be asked to lead interventions.
