A nurturing primary school in Thornton Heath is seeking a Year 1 SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team. This role provides an excellent opportunity to help pupils build confidence and achieve their full potential.

The Role:
As a Year 1 SEN Teaching Assistant, you will support students with additional needs, ensuring they can engage with the curriculum and flourish in the classroom.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide one-on-one and group support for Year 1 pupils with SEN, including speech and language difficulties and sensory processing needs.
• Assist the class teacher in delivering creative and accessible lessons.
• Promote positive behaviour and social development through structured activities.
• Use personalised strategies to help pupils feel secure and valued.
• Liaise with the SENCO to monitor progress and adapt support as needed.

About You:

• Experience working with SEN children in an Early Years or Key Stage 1 setting.
• Understanding of SEN strategies, such as sensory breaks and visual supports.
• Caring, patient, and proactive in fostering a positive learning environment.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
