A primary school in Brentford is seeking a Year 1 SEN Teaching Assistant to work closely with children who require additional support in their academic and social development. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a passion for helping students overcome challenges in their learning.
The Role:
As a Year 1 SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide one-on-one and small group support to students with SEN, including those with autism, speech and language needs, or behavioural difficulties. You will work alongside the class teacher to deliver personalised learning strategies and help create an inclusive and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and small group support for Year 1 students with SEN.
- Adapt lessons and resources to meet the specific needs of SEN students.
- Assist with managing classroom behaviour and promoting positive interactions.
- Support students’ emotional well-being and encourage social development.
- Work with external professionals and the SENCO to implement tailored support plans.
About You:
- Experience working with SEN students, particularly in Key Stage 1.
- Knowledge of SEN strategies and how to apply them in a classroom setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Empathetic, patient, and passionate about supporting young learners.
