A primary school in Shirley is seeking a compassionate and proactive Year 1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support children who require extra guidance in their early school years. This role is ideal for someone who is patient, understanding, and eager to work closely with young children.
The Role:
As a Year 1 SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside the class teacher to provide one-on-one and small group support to students with SEN. You will help create a welcoming and supportive learning environment where each child feels valued.
Key Responsibilities:
- Offer personalised support to Year 1 students with SEN, including those with communication delays, sensory needs, and developmental delays.
- Adapt resources to engage students in hands-on learning activities.
- Support behaviour management and encourage positive interactions.
- Track student progress and liaise with the SENCO for targeted interventions.
- Help students build foundational social and emotional skills.
About You:
- Previous experience with SEN students, especially in Key Stage 1.
- Knowledge of SEN strategies for young children and adaptive learning techniques.
- Kind, patient, and dedicated to fostering a positive learning environment.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
