Do you have the dedication and skills to help Year 1 students thrive in their early education? We are looking for an enthusiastic Year 1 Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant primary school in Heston, Hounslow.
The Role:
As a Year 1 Teaching Assistant, you will support the class teacher in delivering engaging and creative lessons that cater to the needs of all students. You will provide additional support to students who need extra help, including those with SEN, to ensure they have a positive and inclusive learning experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering lessons that align with the Key Stage 1 curriculum.
- Provide one-on-one and small group support to Year 1 students, including those with SEN, helping them to engage with the lessons and develop their skills.
- Help create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages participation and fosters a love for learning.
- Support students with literacy, numeracy, and social skills development, using creative and interactive methods.
- Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to the class teacher and contributing to planning and assessments.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external professionals to support the learning and development of Year 1 students.
About You:
We are seeking a caring, creative, and enthusiastic individual who is passionate about working with young children in Key Stage 1. The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience working with primary-aged children, ideally in Key Stage 1, in an educational setting.
- A good understanding of the Key Stage 1 curriculum and effective strategies to support young learners.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to engage young children in learning through play and structured activities.
- A proactive and flexible approach to supporting learning in the classroom.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Qualifications:
- Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, or a related field are desirable.
- Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role is highly valued.
