Ortus Recruitment are looking for a Year 1 Teaching Assistant to prepare children for their future by supporting in their emotional, social and academic development. The school we are working with is Ofsted rated Outstanding‘ and is located in West Drayton, London Borough of Hillingdon.

Job Role:

This is a Year 1 Teaching Assistant position, therefore we are looking for someone who can have a positive impact on development , act as a role model and manage behaviour effectively.

You will work closely with young learners to raise attainment levels through interventions in both English and Maths. There will be a small number of pupils with SEN so you will be expected to help them reach their full potential as well.

Key responsibilities:

• Providing one-on-one & small group support
• Assisting with classroom activities, including planning and preparation
• Promoting an inclusive and positive learning environment
• Monitoring and assessing pupil progress
• Collaborating with teachers and parents to ensure the best possible outcomes for all pupils

Essential Skills and Experience:

• Experience supporting pupils in Key Stage 1
• Experience supporting pupils with SEN
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• A passion for education and helping pupils achieve their full potential
• Patience, empathy, and a nurturing attitude
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
