A primary school in Thornton Heath is looking for a Year 2 SEN Teaching Assistant to provide vital support to students who require additional help in the classroom. The Role:
As a Year 2 SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher to provide one-on-one and small group support to children with SEN, including those with autism, ADHD, and speech and language difficulties. Your role will be to create a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students can succeed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and group support for Year 2 students with SEN.
- Adapt lesson plans and resources to meet the needs of SEN students.
- Help with behaviour management and maintain a calm, focused learning atmosphere.
- Assist students in their personal, social, and emotional development.
- Work alongside the SENCO and class teacher to monitor student progress.
About You:
- Experience working with SEN students, ideally in Key Stage 1.
- Knowledge of SEN strategies and techniques for supporting students with additional needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a desire to help children succeed.
