A primary school in Thornton Heath is looking for a Year 3 SEN Teaching Assistant to provide focused support for students who require additional guidance in their learning journey. This role is perfect for someone with patience, creativity, and a genuine love for working with children.
The Role:
You will work alongside the Year 3 class teacher to provide one-on-one and group support for students with SEN, including those with speech and language difficulties, autism, and social or emotional challenges. You will help create a positive and engaging learning environment that encourages all students to succeed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide personalised support to Year 3 students with SEN.
- Adapt lesson plans and activities to meet individual learning needs.
- Support the emotional and social well-being of students, fostering a safe and inclusive atmosphere.
- Work with the SENCO to implement effective strategies and monitor progress.
- Help manage classroom behaviour and promote positive interactions.
About You:
- Experience working with SEN children, particularly in a Key Stage 2 setting.
- Understanding of effective strategies for supporting a range of SEN needs.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Empathetic, patient, and enthusiastic about supporting young learners.
