Classroom Assistant | Immediate Start | £425 – £500 p/w

NO SCHOOL BASED EXPERIENCE REQUIRED, TRANSFERRABLE EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS WELCOME

Job Summary:

· Location: Rotherhithe

· Pay: £85 – £100 per day, PAYE – No hidden agency/umbrella company fees

· Role: Full time, Long term, Monday – Friday (08:30 – 16:00)

Here at Ortus Recruitment we are seeking someone who has experience working with children to come in and assist a class teacher in a year 4 mainstream primary school class. The school is Ofsted rated ‘Good’ and they are hoping to increase it to Outstanding at the next Ofsted inspection. The school are seeking someone who is able to start immediately and commit to a full time, long term role which is ongoing throughout the entire academic year.

You must have these to apply:

· An Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service or be willing to process one through Ortus Recruitment – £52

· Two obtainable childcare relevant references

· A minimum Grade C in GCSE English and Math

The role:

As a Classroom Assistant you will be responsible for assisting the class teacher in supporting pupils in a year 2 class. You will act as a general class teaching assistant but will assist the class teacher with administrative duties such as helping to prepare classwork and activities, photocopying/laminating worksheets, updating/removing display boards and handing out and signing reading diaries. Alongside the administrative duties, you will also need to support pupils in class with their enquiries where possible.

To be considered for this role you must:

· Have a strong academic background, minimum grade C in GCSE English and Math

· Be passionate about supporting children and dedicated to helping raise their academic attainment levels

· Have experience supporting children in a care, residential, school or social (coaching, nannying, tutoring, youth work)

· Have a ‘Can do’ attitude

· Be able to easily build a positive rapport with both staff and students
