A school in Addiscombe is seeking a Year 6 SEN Teaching Assistant to provide vital support to students as they prepare for their SATs and transition to secondary school. This role offers a chance to make a real difference in a student’s final year of primary education.

The Role:
As a Year 6 SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work with students who have SEN, including those with autism, ADHD, and other learning difficulties. You will provide targeted academic support in core subjects, help manage behaviour, and ensure each student is equipped with the skills they need for their next steps in education.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide individual and group support for Year 6 students with SEN.
• Assist with SATs preparation and targeted support in literacy and numeracy.
• Work with the class teacher to adapt lessons and resources for SEN students.
• Help manage behaviour and create a positive, inclusive learning environment.
• Support students in developing their social and emotional skills as they prepare for secondary school.

About You:

• Experience working with SEN students, particularly in Key Stage 2.
• Strong understanding of the Year 6 curriculum and how to support students preparing for SATs.
• Patience, empathy, and a commitment to helping students succeed.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
