A primary school in Brentford is looking for a Year 6 Teaching Assistant to support students as they prepare for their transition to secondary school. This is a rewarding opportunity to work with pupils as they develop key skills for their future education.
The Role:
As a Year 6 Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside the class teacher to provide additional support in key areas such as literacy and numeracy. You will also assist students who need extra guidance, including those with Special Educational Needs (SEN), to ensure they are fully prepared for the next stage of their education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide classroom support to Year 6 students, focusing on literacy, numeracy, and exam preparation.
- Assist in managing small groups and providing one-on-one interventions for students with SEN or those who need extra help.
- Support classroom behaviour and help maintain a positive learning environment.
- Help students develop confidence and independence as they approach the end of primary school.
- Monitor progress and provide feedback to the class teacher.
About You:
- Experience working in Key Stage 2, particularly with Year 6 students.
- Understanding of the Year 6 curriculum, including SATs preparation.
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach.
- Passionate about helping students achieve their best in their final primary year.
