Ortus Recruitment is excited to announce an amazing opportunity for the role of Year 6 Teaching Assistant. We are looking for enthusiastic and reliable individuals who have a passion for education to help support Year 6 children during their last and most crucial year of Primary School.

Main Responsibilities:

• Ability to take initiative, be proactive and have fair but firm approach
• Work alongside class teacher to manage classroom behaviour, keep classroom organised and liaise with parents/carers
• Build excellent rapports with staff and pupils
• Support children with SEN on a 1:1 basis
• Lead numeracy and literacy interventions in small groups to raise low attainment levels and reach set targets
• Engage pupils with the KS2 curriculum

Main Expectations:

• 6+ months experience supporting children in a classroom environment (desirable)
• Minimum 2:2 degree in a relevant subject e.g. psychology or education (desirable)
• Strong numeracy/literacy skills
• Knowledge of the KS2 curriculum (desirable)
• Must be able to provide: an enhanced DBS (or willing to apply for one through Ortus Recruitment), proof of Right to Work in the UK and 2 references
