Primary SEN Teaching Assistant

Location – Brentford

Working hours: Monday to Friday – 08:00 to 16:00

We have a very exciting Special Needs Teaching Assistant role opportunity that would suit anyone that is passionate about working in education. If you are also interested in supporting SEN children, mainly those with Autism, Speech and Language needs then this role will be well suited to you.

The school are looking for a Teaching Assistant to support 1:1 with an Autistic child in a Year 2 class. The senior leadership at the school are supporting and friendly, and have worked to build a welcoming atmosphere where learner and staff feel enabled to grow and develop.

Duties included:

  • 1:1 support with children
  • Assisting the class teacher
  • Supporting the whole class when needed
  • Caring and looking after children during break time
  • Managing challenging behaviour
  • Fostering relationships with the parents

Essential skills that are required to have:

  • A genuine passion for supporting children with SEN
  • Experience working with children with Autism/ADHD
  • Have a natural enthusiasm for working with young children
  • The ability to monitor and record a child’s progress
  • An understanding of safeguarding children
  • A positive, caring, energetic, can-do attitude
