Ortus recruitment are currently looking for a qualified individual with previous experience working in schools for a SEN Teaching Assistant.

The role will consist of helping pupils with their learning and development as well as their health and educational needs. Also supporting teachers plan lessons whilst positively engaging in the classroom environment.

The school is in the exciting area of Croydon which offers many shops on the main road and plenty of access to trains and bus links for easy commutes to and from the school.

Main Areas of Responsibility

• To work with the teachers and SEN department to support students with a variety of different SEN needs and to positively engage in the classroom environment.
• To have a proactive approach to supporting all students inside and outside the classroom, including SEN.
• To demonstrate an understanding of the needs of all students.
• To engage positively and proactively in all CPD opportunities offered within the SEN Department.
• To support other students in the class group, as appropriate.
• To have knowledge of the primary school curriculum and apply this effectively in supporting teachers and students.

• Able to work Full time, long term (Mon – Fri)
• Right to work in UK
• 2 relevant references
• Possess enhanced DBS on update service
