Autism Support / Teaching Assistant | Croydon Borough | KS1
If you are an enthusiastic individual who is eager to help others and work with children then this is a great opportunity for you. Those with previous experience in the education sector are encouraged to apply, however those who have experience with children in a work environment will still be considered.
The role involves working 1:1 with a child who has autism for a couple hours before supporting the entire class for the rest of the day. During the 1:1 work you will be monitoring the student’s behaviour and progress in lessons to identify if there are any techniques you can implement to improve their learning.
When assisting the rest of the class it will include providing them support during lessons if they are struggling, helping the class teacher organise lessons and analysing the students to see if any of them are showing signs of having additional needs.
Role requirements:
- Previous experience with SEN (desirable)
- A fully enhanced DBS on the update service
- Strong knowledge of KS1 curriculum
- Can provide two references
- Available for full time work
