ASC TEACHING ASSISTANT – COULSDON
Ortus Recruitment is currently working closely with a passionate SENCo from a vibrant 3-form entry school, who is keen to ensure the pupils are supported to the best of their ability and is looking to appoint a confident and hardworking SEN TA to support a child in Year 1.
The pupil has an educational healthcare plan with a statement of Autism (ASC).
The pupil is verbal, high functioning and has a good all-around understanding and access to the UK national curriculum. The pupil requires a level of nurturing and to follow directions, as well support within the classroom with numeracy and literacy.
The role will involve –
1-1 support for a year 1 pupil with mild to moderate Autism.
Work alongside the lower KS1 team to plan and prepare engaging, fun sessions for small groups of learners that need additional support
Firm but fair behaviour management skills

you must:
Have previous experience working in a primary school, nursery of SEN setting
Be a team player – this role requires someone who works well with teachers, pupils and parents
Demonstrate commitment, dedication and resilience in your previous childcare work
have an ability to manage sometimes challenging behaviour
Ideally you will be local to Coulsdon.
