Behaviour Mentor
A nurturing and community-focused primary school in Tooting is working in partnership with Ortus Recruitment to appoint a resilient and empathetic Behaviour Mentor for September 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity to support pupils who may need additional encouragement and guidance to stay engaged and feel confident in school. You’ll work closely with class teachers, the SENCO, and parents to provide emotional and behavioural support to children who may face barriers to learning. Whether working 1:1 or in small groups, your support will help children manage their emotions, build social skills, and flourish both academically and personally.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Providing behaviour support to pupils with emotional or social difficulties
- Supporting children in regulating emotions and developing coping strategies
- Assisting with classroom inclusion and helping reduce barriers to learning
- Encouraging positive communication and peer relationships
- Acting as a positive role model throughout the school day
Candidate Profile
- Calm, patient, and confident when working with children with behavioural needs
- Previous experience in behaviour support, mentoring or SEN is an advantage
- Excellent listening and communication skills
- Committed to helping children thrive emotionally and socially
