Ortus Recruitment is working closely with a vibrant and welcoming primary school in Earlsfield, Wandsworth, who are looking for a KS1 Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2025. This full-time role offers the chance to make a real difference in the classroom, supporting pupils across Year 2 and Year 3. You’ll be joining a school that values its staff, celebrates diversity, and puts the children at the heart of everything it does. The leadership team are incredibly supportive, and staff work collaboratively to create a nurturing and inspiring learning environment.

What you’ll be doing:

• Supporting the class teacher with lesson prep, classroom management, and daily routines
• Working closely with children who may need extra support, including those with additional learning needs
• Running small group activities and offering 1:1 support when needed
• Encouraging positive behaviour and helping children build confidence, independence, and social skills
• Being a positive role model and helping create a classroom where all children feel safe, supported, and valued

What we’re looking for:

• Previous experience working in a primary school setting, ideally in KS1
• A calm, friendly, and patient approach
• Strong communication and organisation skills
• Flexibility and initiative – every day in a school is different!
• Any relevant qualifications (such as a Level 2 or 3 TA qualification) are welcomed, but not essential
• Experience supporting children with SEND would be a bonus

Pay and Details:

• Start date: September 2025
• Location: Earlsfield, Wandsworth
• Rate: £89 – £110 per day (PAYE, depending on experience)
• Contract: Full-time, term-time only
