SEN Teaching Assistant – ASC & Sensory Support (Year 1)

Location: Addiscombe, Croydon, Greater London
Salary: £90 – £100 per day (depending on experience)
Contract Type: Full-Time, Term-Time Only

A welcoming primary school in Addiscombe is seeking a compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to support a Year 1 pupil with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and sensory processing needs. The role will involve using structured routines and sensory-based activities to promote engagement and learning.

The Role:

• Provide one-to-one support for a Year 1 pupil with ASC and sensory needs
• Help implement visual timetables, social stories, and sensory breaks
• Support participation in phonics, literacy, and numeracy activities
• Encourage positive social interaction with peers
• Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and external specialists

About You:

• Experience supporting children with Autism or sensory needs
• Patient, empathetic, and consistent in approach
• Knowledge of sensory strategies and interventions is an advantage
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
