SEN Teaching Assistant – SEMH Support
Location: Upper Norwood, Croydon, Greater London
Salary: £90 – £100 per day (depending on experience)
Contract Type: Full-Time, Term-Time Only

A caring primary school in Upper Norwood is looking for a confident SEN Teaching Assistant to support a Year 6 pupil with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This role will focus on helping the pupil manage emotions, remain engaged in learning, and prepare for the transition to secondary school.
The Role:
- One-to-one support for a Year 6 pupil with SEMH needs
- Use emotion coaching and de-escalation strategies to support regulation
- Encourage engagement in lessons and build confidence in learning
- Provide structured routines to reduce anxiety during transition
- Work closely with the pastoral team, teacher, and SENCO
About You:
- Strong experience supporting children with SEMH or emotional needs
- Resilient, calm, and nurturing approach
- Excellent behaviour management and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build trust and positive relationships quickly
