KS2 Teaching Assistant

Location: Brent, NW London
Salary: £90–£100 per day (depending on experience)
Contract Type: Full-time, long-term (with potential for permanent role)
Start Date: ASAP

About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate KS2 SEN Teaching Assistant to join a friendly and inclusive primary school in Brent. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children with special educational needs and helping them reach their full potential.

You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to provide tailored support for pupils with a range of needs, including autism (ASC), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional and mental health challenges (SEMH).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support individual pupils or small groups with additional learning needs
  • Help implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and EHCP targets
  • Encourage and promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
  • Assist the teacher with classroom activities and learning resources
  • Contribute to a safe, caring, and stimulating learning environment

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with SEN (school or childcare setting)
  • A patient, empathetic and proactive approach
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills
  • (Desirable) Relevant qualifications such as Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant or SEN training
