Classroom Assistant

Our partnered mainstream primary school in Wandsworth is seeking a dedicated and flexible Classroom Assistant to join their team immediately. This is a full-time, long-term role offering the chance to make a real difference in the classroom by supporting pupils’ learning and development. The ideal candidate will be patient, enthusiastic, and ready to support children in a variety of ways, from academic tasks to social and behavioural guidance. You will work alongside class teachers to create a positive, inclusive, and structured learning environment where every child can thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to help pupils access lessons and activities
  • Assist with implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour support strategies
  • Support pupils with SEN or challenging behaviour, ensuring a safe and inclusive classroom
  • Work closely with teachers and colleagues to monitor progress and wellbeing
  • Help prepare classroom resources and support daily routines
  • Assist with transitions, break times, and school activities

Requirements:

  • Recent graduate preferred
  • Experience supporting children with SEN or challenging behaviour
  • Available to start immediately
  • Willing to apply for a DBS if your current DBS is not on the Update Service
