Classroom Assistant
Our partnered mainstream primary school in Wandsworth is seeking a dedicated and flexible Classroom Assistant to join their team immediately. This is a full-time, long-term role offering the chance to make a real difference in the classroom by supporting pupils’ learning and development. The ideal candidate will be patient, enthusiastic, and ready to support children in a variety of ways, from academic tasks to social and behavioural guidance. You will work alongside class teachers to create a positive, inclusive, and structured learning environment where every child can thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to help pupils access lessons and activities
- Assist with implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour support strategies
- Support pupils with SEN or challenging behaviour, ensuring a safe and inclusive classroom
- Work closely with teachers and colleagues to monitor progress and wellbeing
- Help prepare classroom resources and support daily routines
- Assist with transitions, break times, and school activities
Requirements:
- Recent graduate preferred
- Experience supporting children with SEN or challenging behaviour
- Available to start immediately
- Willing to apply for a DBS if your current DBS is not on the Update Service
