A well-established specialist provision in Brixton is seeking a dedicated and adaptable SEN Class Teacher to join their team from April 2024. This is a full-time position for the remainder of the academic year, with the potential to become permanent based on performance and the progress of the pupils. This role sits within a specialist setting, supporting pupils with a range of additional needs. The school is looking for a teacher who can bring creativity, structure, and a nurturing approach to the classroom, ensuring every child is supported to reach their full potential.

The Role:

• Full-time SEN Class Teacher position within a specialist provision
• Starting April 2024 through to the end of the academic year
• Paid to scale (PAYE), based on experience
• Opportunity for a permanent contract

Key Responsibilities:

• Planning and delivering differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning needs
• Supporting pupils with a range of SEN, including ASD, ADHD, and SEMH
• Creating a safe, structured, and engaging learning environment
• Monitoring progress and adapting teaching strategies accordingly
• Working closely with support staff, therapists, and parents to provide a holistic approach to education

Requirements:

• QTS or a PGCE with Qualified Teacher Status
• Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
• Experience working with children with SEN or within a specialist setting is highly desirable
• Strong classroom management and a patient, resilient approach
