EYFS/KS1/KS2 Classroom Assistant
Ortus Recruitment are looking for a Classroom Assistant who will support the head teacher and pupils in the classroom and helps with learning and development. The chosen applicant will have a genuine passion in helping young children in an educational setting.
The chosen applicant must be happy to work with EYFS, Key Stage 1 and 2 children in a primary school.
Job Responsibilities:
- Support the head teacher with planning daily activities.
- Works 1:1 with children and small groups to help them learn.
- Support the children with learning difficulties and challenging behaviour (SEN)
- Prepare the classroom for the lessons and helps clean up after.
- Admin activities such as photocopying, filing, displaying work, recording and reporting important notes to head teacher/parents.
- Build relationships with the parents of the children to ensure good communication and a warm environment.
- Looks after the children’s health, safety, and wellbeing and making sure all harmful tools are kept at a distance from the children.
- Communicate & listen to everyone, the children, the teachers and the parents.
- Multitasking on different activities while constantly paying attention to the children and head teacher.
- Taking initiative when needed regarding learning from the class teacher and being able to take over the class if the class teacher is otherwise occupied.
Requirements:
- A commitment to helping children in their emotional, social and mental health.
- Experience working with SEN children (needed)
- Able to make good connections with teachers, children and parents.
- Prior experience working with primary school children (in a school or through tutoring, nursery experienced candidates also welcome to apply)
- Sensitivity, patience and dedication when it comes to supporting the children.

SALARY: £90.00 – £105.00
