About the Role
As an Autism Support Assistant, you will work closely with pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), providing tailored support both inside and outside the classroom.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing 1:1 support for pupils with Autism
- Supporting students during lessons and structured activities
- Assisting with communication, emotional regulation, and social development
- Encouraging positive behaviour and classroom engagement
- Working alongside teachers and SEN staff to implement support strategies
- Helping create a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment
This role is ideal for aspiring teachers, educational psychologists, speech and language therapists, or anyone looking to gain valuable SEN experience.
Requirements
✔ Experience working with children or young people
✔ Passion for supporting pupils with SEN and Autism
✔ Calm, patient, and proactive approach
✔ Strong communication and teamwork skills
✔ Reliable and enthusiastic attitude
✔ Experience in schools, care, youth work, or mentoring is desirable but not essential
