The Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers and support staff to provide high-quality classroom and targeted intervention support across the school.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting pupils across the classroom, including those with additional learning needs and SEND
- Providing 1:1 and small group support to help pupils access learning and make progress
- Assisting with the delivery of tailored interventions to support academic and social development
- Supporting classroom learning, behaviour management, and daily routines
- Helping to create a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
- Supervising pupils during break times and transitions where required
- Building strong and supportive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
- Encouraging independence, confidence, and positive behaviour
- Contributing to the overall wellbeing and development of pupils
The Ideal Candidate
The school is looking for a motivated, flexible, and compassionate individual who is committed to making a difference in children’s lives.
Applicants should ideally have:
- NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent qualification/experience)
- Previous experience working in a primary school or educational setting
- Experience supporting children with SEND (desirable but not essential)
- A caring, patient, and positive approach to working with children
- High expectations for both pupil achievement and personal conduct
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently when required
- A proactive attitude and willingness to go the extra mile
- Experience or confidence in delivering small group interventions
