This is a fantastic opportunity for a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting children with Autism and helping them to thrive both academically and personally within a structured, nurturing, and highly supportive environment. The Role

As an ASD Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with experienced teachers and support staff within the ASD bases to provide consistent, structured and individualised support for pupils.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) on a 1:1 and small group basis
  • Assisting in the delivery of personalised learning activities tailored to individual EHCP targets
  • Supporting communication, language development, and social interaction skills
  • Implementing structured routines and specialist strategies to support engagement and regulation
  • Helping to facilitate positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
  • Supporting therapeutic approaches integrated into learning and play
  • Encouraging independence, confidence, and participation in learning activities
  • Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, therapists, and wider school staff
  • Contributing to a safe, calm, and inclusive learning environment
  • Supporting pupils’ social and emotional development throughout the school day

The Ideal Candidate

The school is seeking a patient, resilient, and highly motivated individual who is passionate about working with children with additional needs.

Applicants should ideally have:

  • Experience working with children or young people with Autism (ASD) or additional learning needs
  • A strong understanding of inclusive practice and child-centred learning approaches
  • The ability to build trusting and positive relationships with pupils
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • A calm, consistent, and nurturing approach to behaviour support
  • The ability to follow structured routines and adapt to individual needs
  • A genuine passion for supporting children’s development and wellbeing
  • Experience in a school, SEN setting, care environment, or similar role (desirable)
