Drama Graduate Teaching Assistant

Our partnered mainstream primary school based in Putney is seeking a creative and enthusiastic Drama Graduate Teaching Assistant to join their team to support a pupil in KS2 with Autism. This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate looking to gain valuable school-based experience while making a positive impact on young learners. Your creative background will help bring energy, confidence, and imagination into the classroom, supporting pupils both academically and socially throughout their primary education journey.
The Role
As a Drama Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside class teachers and support staff to help pupils access learning, develop confidence, and reach their full potential. You will support a pupil in KS2, both in class and through small group or one-to-one interventions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting a pupil 1:1 in Key Stage 2.
- Delivering one-to-one and small-group interventions to support learning and development if required.
- Assisting teachers with lesson preparation and classroom activities.
- Encouraging creativity, communication, and self-expression amongst pupils.
- Supporting children with varying learning needs, including those who may require additional support.
- Helping to create a positive, engaging, and inclusive learning environment.
- Supporting pupils’ social, emotional, and academic development throughout the school day.
What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate will:
- Hold a degree in Drama, Performing Arts, Theatre Studies, or a related subject.
- Have a genuine passion for working with children and supporting education.
- Be confident, enthusiastic, and able to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
- Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Be proactive, adaptable, and willing to contribute to all aspects of school life.
- Have experience working with children through tutoring, coaching, mentoring, youth work, theatre workshops, holiday clubs, or voluntary work (desirable but not essential).
