Ortus Recruitment is currently supporting a welcoming and inclusive mainstream primary school in Battersea that is looking to appoint a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their team on either an immediate basis or from September 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children’s education and development. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting pupils both academically and socially throughout the school day. Responsibilities may include:

• Providing 1:1 support for individual pupils
• Supporting children with additional learning needs and SEN
• Assisting the class teacher with daily classroom activities
• Leading intervention groups to support learning and progress
• Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement in lessons
• Helping to create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment

What We’re Looking For

The successful candidate will have:

• GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent qualifications)
• A genuine interest in supporting children’s learning and development
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• The ability to work collaboratively as part of a school team
• Experience working with children or young people in any capacity (school-based, coaching, tutoring, youth work, care work, mentoring, or personal experience)
• Reliability and commitment to a full-time position
