The Role

As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and support staff to help pupils access learning, develop confidence, and achieve their potential. Responsibilities may vary depending on the setting but can include:

  • Providing classroom support across a range of subjects and activities.
  • Working with individual pupils and small groups to reinforce learning.
  • Supporting children with SEND, including Autism, ADHD, and communication needs.
  • Delivering targeted interventions to boost academic progress.
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement in lessons.
  • Helping create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
  • Assisting pupils with social, emotional, and educational development.

Ideal Candidates Will Have:

  • A degree in any subject area.
  • Experience working with children or young people in a professional environment such as schools, nurseries, sports coaching, youth work, tutoring, mentoring, childcare, or community settings.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A positive and proactive attitude towards learning and development.
  • The ability to build meaningful relationships with pupils and colleagues.
  • A genuine interest in supporting children and young people to succeed.
