Are you a caring and dedicated Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting children with Special Educational Needs?

Ortus recruitment are recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and inclusive primary school based in Lewisham seeking a committed SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference by providing one-to-one support for a pupil with additional needs while working alongside an experienced and supportive staff team.

Role Description :

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a pupil with Special Educational Needs.
• Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver tailored learning and support.
• Help create a positive, engaging, and inclusive learning environment.
• Support the pupil’s academic, social, and emotional development.
• Aid with personal care if needed (open to doing this)

The Ideal Candidate

• Previous experience supporting children with SEN in a school or similar setting is desirable.
• A patient, nurturing, and proactive approach.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• A genuine passion for helping children achieve their full potential.
