Our partnered mainstream primary school in Clapham is seeking a caring and enthusiastic Classroom Assistant to join their supportive team in South-West London. This role is ideal for someone passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of children, particularly those with special educational needs and additional support requirements.

The successful candidate will work alongside teachers and support staff to provide tailored assistance to pupils, helping them access learning and develop their confidence within the classroom environment. Job Role:

This position involves supporting pupils with a range of needs, including social, emotional, behavioural difficulties, physical needs, and pupils with Autism Spectrum Conditions. The role will involve working within a primary school setting, providing classroom support on a 1:1, small group, or 2:1 basis.

Responsibilities:

• Provide dedicated one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEN and additional needs.
• Assist teachers with classroom activities, lesson preparation, and learning resources.
• Support pupils with personal care and physical assistance where required.
• Encourage pupils’ independence, confidence, and engagement in learning.
• Monitor pupil progress and provide updates to teachers and relevant staff.
• Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.

Requirements:

• Recent graduate.
• A genuine passion for supporting children with special educational needs.
• Previous experience working with SEN pupils through employment, volunteering, or placements.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• A patient, understanding, and supportive approach.
• Ability to travel easily to Clapham from across London.
