Are you a patient, resilient, and compassionate Teaching Assistant looking to make a real difference in a child’s educational journey?

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a welcoming primary school for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a Year 5 pupil with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, ADHD, and behavioural challenges.

This rewarding role requires someone who can build positive relationships, provide consistent support, and help the pupil engage successfully in learning while promoting emotional regulation and positive behaviour.

The Role

  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a Year 5 pupil throughout the school day.
  • Implement strategies to support emotional regulation, focus, and positive behaviour.
  • Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and wider support staff.
  • Encourage independence, confidence, and engagement with learning.
  • Create a calm, nurturing, and supportive environment tailored to the child’s individual needs.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Experience working with children with SEMH, ADHD, or behavioural needs is highly desirable.
  • A calm, patient, and resilient approach.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • The ability to remain positive and proactive in challenging situations.
  • Relevant Teaching Assistant qualifications are advantageous but not essential if you have suitable experience.
