Ortus Recruitment are looking to recruit a resilient and proactive individual to take on the fulfilling role of 1:1 ASD Learning Support Assistant to support and encourage a child who has autism.

This is a mainstream, Ofsted-rated ‘good’ school that is situated in a lovely area of Barnet with stations and bus stop nearby to ensure easy accessibility. The pupils are friendly and always ready to learn – and with your dedication to the role, the pupils will be able to reach their full potentials and further excel.

1:1 ASD Learning Support Assistant role:

• Have a nurturing and empathetic approach to teaching
• Supporting on a 1:1 with a child who has Autism
• Encourage participation from SEN pupil
• Strong communication skills to liaise with parents and assist class teacher effectively
• Engage students confidently with the curriculum and help them raise attainment

Main Expectations:

• 3+ months experience supporting children with SEN (desirable)
• Have a level 3 qualification, e.g. CACHE level 3 or a degree in a relevant subject e.g. psychology or education (desirable)
• Strong numeracy/literacy capabilities
• Must be able to provide: an enhanced DBS (or willing to apply for one through Ortus Recruitment), proof of Right to Work in the UK and 2 references
