The Role:

• Position: 1:1 Learning Mentor
• Pay: £85 – £100 per day, PAYE (No hidden agency/umbrella company fees)
• Location: Lewisham, Bellingham
• Role: Full time, Long term – Monday – Friday (08:30 – 16:00)

The school we are working with here at ORTUS RECRUITMENT is a Mainstream Primary School, Located in the London Borough of Lewisham, Bellingham. The school are seeking an experienced 1:1 Learning Mentor to work alongside a pupil in Year 4 who needs additional support raising their academic attainment levels in core subjects, specifically English and Reading.

The ideal candidate will be someone who has experience working in a school setting (EYFS, Primary, Secondary or College).  We will also consider those with transferrable skills such as carers or support workers. The ideal candidate will NEED to be able to commit to Full time, Long term work. We are seeking someone who is passionate about working alongside children and dedicated to helping them develop academically, emotionally and socially. You will NEED to have a strong academic background, educated to degree level or equivalent.

The successful candidate will need to have an Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the update service or be willing to process one through Ortus Recruitment at a cost of £52.

Within this role, you will be required to work alongside a pupil in Year 4, liaising with both the Class Teacher, Parents and other professionals (Therapists) to ensure they are getting the necessary support needed. You will be tasked with taking the learner out of class to a quiet 1:1 space and deliver a lesson planned by the teacher that caters to the pupils specific needs. You will  be asked to supervise the pupil around the school building, mainly in the playground  and the lunch hall, ensuring they are in a safe learning environment.
