This is an exciting new opportunity for both us and the successful candidate because this school is Ofsted rated ‘Outstanding’ and boasts a massive site, with vast outdoor space for children to play and an Enrichment room which children can use as a breakout space doing fun activities such as spray painting, gaming consoles and projectors to watch films etc. this room is used to reward good behaviour and academic results. This is a FANTASTIC opportunity for someone who is passionate about working alongside SEN pupils and dedicated to giving them the best start to life.

This role is a full time, long term position (Monday – Friday, 08:30 – 16:00) until the end of the academic year and going into the next academic year (September onwards).  This provision are seeking someone who is able to build a great working relationship with staff and build a positive rapport with pupils.

The ideal candidate will have experience working alongside SEN Children and/or vulnerable Adults/Young people in a care, residential, school or social setting. We are seeking someone who is patient and resilient, as this role can be quite demanding but it is rewarding in terms of pay and experience. The school are dedicated to upskilling the successful candidate with CPD courses and Teacher training in order to open doors for Career Progression. The ideal candidate will need to be passionate about working alongside Children with Special Educational Needs and dedicated to helping them develop in multi aspects of their life including their academic (where possible), social and emotional skills.

Within this role, the successful candidates main responsibilities will be to assist the Class Teacher in supporting a KS2 class with a mixture of children between the ages of 6 -8 years old. The class is a resource based class with pupils who have Autism, ADHD and Speech and Language Disorder. Your role will be to help maintain calm behaviour and use flash cards and visual aids to communicate with learners. The school has a number of different enrichment activities within the school and also other activities offsite which include swimming (you will not be required to swim, just to supervise) and trips to the zoo and museums. You will be required to take pupils to therapy sessions within the school and supervise, trying to ensure calm behaviour.
