Here at Ortus Recruitment we are urgently seeking someone to join one of our Mainstream Primary Schools on a Full time, Long term basis, with the view of eventually going onto a permanent contract depending on your performance and feedback.

The school are seeking someone to start immediately and hit the ground running in a school that is Ofsted rated ‘Good’ and pride themselves on the fantastic working relationship between staff as well as an engaging learning environment for pupils. The school is easy to commute to as it is located in close proximity to a popular London Underground Station as well as several bus stops. The school have a car park if staff opt to drive in. The school need someone to start ASAP.

The Job Role:

• Position: 1:1 Behaviour Mentor – SEMH
• Pay: £90 – £100 per day, PAYE – No hidden agency/umbrella company fees
• Location: Rotherhithe
• Role: Full time, Long term (Monday – Friday, 08:30 – 16:00)

The ideal candidate will be someone who has experience managing challenging behaviour ideally in a school setting but transferrable skills such as working in a care, residential or social setting. The ideal candidate will be someone who can easily build a positive rapport with both staff and pupils, helping to maintain the positive working environment as well as an engaging learning environment. We are seeking someone who is patient and resilient as this role can be challenging. The ideal candidate will be someone who has a natural passion for working with children and are dedicated to helping them have the best start to life as possible.

Candidates must have TWO obtainable childcare relevant references and a clear Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service or be willing to process one through Ortus Recruitment – £52

Within this role the successful candidate will be tasked with working 1:1 with a pupil with SEMH and Challenging Behaviour. You will be required to assist the pupil in class with classwork and managing both their concentration and behaviour. You will need to supervise the pupils on movements breaks during lessons when they are struggling to engage with work, you will also need to give the pupil enrichment incentives in an attempt to get them to engage with learning, these enrichment incentives include a trip to the gaming room, football stadium tours and cinema trips.
