We have a fantastic opportunity for someone who has experience working in schools, to join one of our thriving mainstream primary schools on a full time, long term basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for working with pupils in EYFS – Year 3, leading 1:1 and small group interventions to pupils who require additional support.

The Job Summary:

• Position: Reading and Phonics Intervention Lead
• Pay: £90 – £105 per day (dependent on experience and qualifications)
• Location: Lewisham, Borough
• Role: Full time, Long term. Monday – Friday (08:30 – 16:00)

The Requirements:

• You will need to have a strong academic background, educated to degree level or equivalent (Essential)
• You will need to have experience working in a school or tutoring, supporting pupils who need additional support
• You will need to be able to start full time, and commit to full time, long term work (Role ongoing through September 2023)
• You will need to be able to easily build a positive rapport with both staff and students to maintain the current learning and working environment
• You will need to be passionate about working with children and dedicated to aiding their academic development
• You will need to have a ‘Can do’ attitude
• You need to be patient and resilient
• YOU MUST HAVE TWO OBTAINABLE CHILDCARE (SCHOOL OR TUTORING) RELEVANT REFERENCES
• YOU MUST HAVE A CLEAR ENHANCED CHILD WORKFORCE DBS ON THE UPDATE SERVICE OR BE WILLING TO PROCESS ONE THROUGH ORTUS RECRUITMENT – £52

The Main Responsibilities:

• You will be required to collect pupils from classrooms and take them to the library to deliver phonics and reading activities
• You will need to liaise with the Class Teachers to provide feedback on the pupils progress
• You will need to track and record the pupils progress
• You will be required to supervise the pupils whilst they’re walking through the corridor, promoting calm behaviour
• You will need to follow all the school policies, especially safeguarding and behavioural policy
