Early Years Teaching Assistant

We work with a number of schools, all rated ‘Good‘ or ‘Outstanding‘ by Ofsted, with supportive senior leadership teams and opportunities for further career progression.
We are currently looking for an Early Years Teaching Assistant to support amongst nursery and reception classes in a mainstream primary school in the London Borough of Barnet. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals with experience within the Early Years sector and good knowledge of the EYFS framework.
As an Early Years Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for providing a safe and stimulating environment to allow the children to grow and develop. You will lead phonics and reading interventions to encourage academic development, as well as promote learning through play. Your other responsibilities will include;
- managing behaviour effectively
- looking after physical needs and providing personal care
- liaising with parents/carers
- monitoring progress through targets
- safeguarding/working alongside SENCo
- working alongside classroom teacher
- building nurturing attachments and fostering trust

Requirements for the role:
- Level 3 CACHE (preferred)
- Good understanding of EYFS framework
- Behaviour management
- Ability to problem solve and take initiative
- Good communication skills
- Nurturing and patient approach
- Competent literacy skill
