Ortus Recruitment is currently seeking a Behaviour Mentor for a role in one of our client schools in Tottenham central, Enfield borough. The school caters to children facing Social, Emotional, and Mental Health challenges. You will be working 1:1 with a child. This role is both demanding and rewarding, making it an excellent fit for aspiring educators who are passionate about assisting children who may be facing emotional difficulties.

Summary of SEN Teaching Assistant role:

• Supporting children presenting SEN, EBD and SEMH needs
• Knowledge and experience using de-escalation strategies
• Understanding of social, emotional, and mental health issues
• Must be patient, resilient and have a firm but fair approach
• Ability to enforce boundaries and stay consistent
• You will be supported by another Learning Support Assistant
• Prior experience dealing with severe behavioral needs and supporting SEN children

Must have for this role:

• An Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the update service
• Two obtainable childcare relevant references
• A minimum Grade C in GCSE English and Math
• Team teach (desirable)
• 3-6 months previous experience
• You must be willing to attend to their emotional needs
