ORTUS RECRUITMENT are working with a modern mainstream primary school located in the London borough of Lewisham. This primary school are seeking a bubbly, confident and energetic member of staff to join their fantastic staff team. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working alongside a learner with challenging behaviour and will have the patience to help them develop both academically and socially.

The Role:

• Behaviour Mentor
• Located in Lewisham (Must be able to reliably commute or relocate)
• Full Time, Long Term -8:30 – 16:00
• ASAP start

Once in the role you will be required to assist the learner with day to day activities in the school. This includes, assisting the learner in class, helping them maintain concentration and to help ensure they have a positive attitude to learning. You will be required to follow a specific behaviour plan set up for the learner which includes incentives as well as the correct steps to take if the learner is not making the right choices. The ideal candidate will be able to build a rapport with the child and help them engage in learning. 

The ideal candidate will have:

• Experience working with SEN learners, challenging behaviour or vulnerable adults
• A dynamic and motivating approach to supporting learners
• The ability to work in a team
• Excellent time management and attendance
• Experience working 1:1 or in a small groups
